What does home mean to you?

Researchers considered the very abstract and the very specific as they explored ideas of home and houses during the summer of 2016. They asked whether Harvard was part of Coast, what colors mean home to different people, and what home is when you are an immigrant.

This summer, we emphasized iteration and experimentation with final project ideas, and hosted visiting artist Avery Williamson for a week of storytelling and self-reflection about family history, black history, and the connection between visual and personal narrative.  Their research was pursued by survey, drawing and zine-making, photography, cooking, and sound recording.
